The Faculty of Dentistry, Dalhousie University, is seeking applications for a full-time, probationary appointment teaching restorative dentistry at the rank of Instructor. With appropriate experience and credentials, the successful applicant may be considered for the position of Assistant Director of the General Practice Residency Program.
Preference will be given to those candidates with teaching experience at the undergraduate level and those who have completed a general practice residency. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications, experience and achievements.
Responsibilities will include didactic, pre-clinical, and clinical teaching in all aspects of restorative dentistry in the Faculty’s undergraduate programs. Broad experience with operative dentistry, removable, fixed and implant prosthodontics is desirable. Experience with digital prosthodontic workflows would be an asset. Additional expectations include active participation in Faculty committees, other administrative duties and scholarly activity.
Successful applicants must be licensed or eligible for licensure through the Provincial Dental Board of Nova Scotia and must hold a certificate from the National Dental Examining Board of Canada for general practice dentistry. Private practice privilege is integrated with this appointment; however, the Provincial Dental Board of Nova Scotia does not offer academic licensure.
