The Department of Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences (PRDS) in the School of Dentistry of the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), invites applications for faculty in its Division of Preclinical Education, Biomaterials & Engineering (PEBE). The Department is looking to fill one or two positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, depending on the qualifications of the applicant. Candidates should hold a Ph.D., D.D.S., or equivalent degree, should have established a dynamic research program in biomaterials or bioengineering, and have at least two years of experience teaching and training pre-doctoral, graduate, doctoral, and postgraduate students. Successful candidates will show evidence of research excellence in the form of prior and ongoing independent research funding. The ideal candidates will have translational research experience in one of the following areas: dental materials, dental biomaterials, biomineralization of oral and craniofacial tissues, dental tissue repair/regeneration, dental engineering, dental devices or dental equipment. Other areas of interest for the search include creating effective clinical translational models and clinical interventions in dentistry. The successful candidates will also become members of the UCSF Oral and Craniofacial Sciences graduate program. Successful candidates will be expected to be active researchers, engaged educators, participate in committee service and may have opportunity for clinical practice.
