The University of Florida College of Dentistry, Department of Community Dentistry and Behavioral Science (CDBS), is seeking applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Dental Public Health at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor. The University of Florida College of Dentistry (UFCD) is one of the leading dental schools in the United States devoted to improving and promoting oral health throughout Florida, the nation and worldwide through excellence in teaching, research, patient care and service. CDBS has an extensive community outreach program, including two research centers (https://dental.ufl.edu/departments/communitydentistryandbehavioralscience/research-centers/) which provide opportunities to collaborate with existing faculty, and operates two general dentistry residency training programs.
Responsibilities for this position will be to develop a funded research program in dental public health, health disparities, epidemiology and/or health services research; teaching and mentoring DMD and graduate trainees and directing coursework in dental public health; and involvement in community outreach and clinical service delivery. Candidates must possess a DDS/DMD degree or equivalent degree. Preference will be given to candidates with Masters or doctoral degrees in public health (PhD, DrPH), health services research, or health policy and a demonstrated record of teaching experience, funded research, and productivity in other scholarly activities. Board certification in Dental Public Health is desirable. This position may also have an affiliate appointment in the UF College of Public Health and Health Professions.
