The University of Iowa’s College of Dentistry is searching for the Department Executive Officer, Oral Pathology, Radiology & Medicine.
This is a full-time clinical or tenure-track faculty position at the Associate Professor or Full Professor level.
Major responsibilities:
-provide strong leadership in the areas of teaching, scholarship, and service to the department;
-collaborate with collegiate leadership;
-develop and mentor faculty;
-maintain close cooperation with other departments; and
-actively participate in the department’s faculty practice.
The position is available June 30, 2025; screening begins immediately.
Applicants must have:
-DDS/DMD degree or equivalent;
-completion of a CODA/CDAC-accredited advanced training program in Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology, Oral Medicine, Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology, or Orofacial Pain;
-Master’s degree or higher in relevant field;
-Board certification by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology, Oral Medicine, Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology, or Orofacial Pain;
-significant relevant administrative/budget experience;
-record of effective teaching, patient care, and service;
-record of protocol-driven research and/or scholarly activity; and
-Professional experience working effectively with individuals from various backgrounds and perspectives.
Desirable qualifications:
-demonstrated clinical practice experience;
-substantial search accomplishments with extramural funding;
-demonstrated record of mentoring students, residents, and/or faculty;
-demonstrated leadership accomplishments at national and/or international levels; and ability to develop new research initiatives.
Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation, including, but not limited to, sexual misconduct in prior employment, provide a related release, and be subject to a criminal background and credential check.
Academic rank, track, and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
