The University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the assistant professor rank in the Division of Endodontology. Applications are now being accepted with an anticipated start date in July 2022.
The University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine has a rich 50 year history and is the largest provider of dental care in Connecticut. The School of Dental Medicine is committed to supporting oral health education, research, development of competent health care professionals, high quality patient care, and the promotion of overall health. Our school’s integrated curriculum, state-of-the-art dental care center, preclinical simulation laboratories, service-oriented mission, and close-knit student and faculty body fosters undergraduate and graduate learning. The School has a longstanding record of being a Research-Intensive institution with over $10M in grant funding. In the biomedical research realm, UConn Health is in a transformational period of growth supported by the $1.7B Next Generation Connecticut and the $1B Bioscience Connecticut investments. Additional collaborative opportunities exist with faculty at the Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine (JAX-GM), and a range of pharmaceutical firms, medical device manufacturers, the insurance industry, and research start-ups.
Candidates are required to have a DDS/DMD degree (or equivalent), a Certificate in Endodontics from a CODA accredited advanced education program and be Board eligible/certified in Endodontics by the American Board of Endodontics. Candidates with an advanced degree (MS, PhD) are preferred. The successful candidate would be expected to participate in pre- and post-doctoral clinical and didactic teaching, research activities and service to the school and community. Candidates must be eligible for a dental license in Connecticut. An intramural practice is available. Candidates should have a strong collaborative spirit and commitment for supporting the mission of the Division of Endodontology.
