Job Description:

The University of Florida College of Dentistry (UFCD) is recruiting a full-time, tenure accruing Assistant/Associate Professor in the Department of Periodontology. The University of Florida College of Dentistry (UFCD) is one of the leading dental schools in the United States, devoted to improving and promoting oral health throughout Florida, the nation and worldwide through excellence in teaching, research, patient care and service.

Responsibilities for this position will center on establishing a research program, pre-doctoral and graduate level didactic, pre-clinical and clinical instruction, and participation in intramural faculty practice. This position will be responsible for developing an independent yet collaborative research program focused on periodontology. Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s credentials and experience.

The UF Health Science Center and its six colleges (Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health and Health Professions, Veterinary Medicine) are co-located on the Gainesville campus, with additional teaching, research, and patient care sites throughout Florida, and beyond.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum requirements include:

  • DDS, DMD or equivalent degree.
  • Advanced training in Periodontology from a CODA-accredited postgraduate program.
  • Board eligibility or board certification.
  • Evidence of productivity in scholarly activities (peer-reviewed publications of research and/or other scholarly activities).

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications include:

  • Previous/current extramural funding for research.
  • Previous teaching experience of predoctoral and advanced education in periodontology.
