The Department of Orofacial Sciences in the School of Dentistry at the University of California, San Francisco, seeks applicants for a full-time position as an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Health Sciences Clinical or Clinical X series.

In this role, the faculty member will actively participate in all Division activities and initiatives. This includes clinical and didactic teaching, mentoring, course preparation, grading, and other teaching activities that may arise. Most of the teaching time will be devoted to the pre-doctoral program, although as the need arises, the faculty might oversee residents in the postgraduate clinic. There is an expectation to devote time to research, scholarly work, faculty practice, and OR resident supervision.

Applicants must have a dental degree (DDS, DMD, or equivalent) and a certificate of advanced training in Pediatric Dentistry and be a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry or be Board-eligible. Applicants should have extensive clinical experience and be competent in preventive, restorative, and surgical practice phases. Clinical experience should also include recent extensive experience providing comprehensive surgical and restorative care in the hospital operating room as well as other advanced forms of behavior guidance such as oral conscious sedation. Experience in teaching, clinical research, and administration is strongly preferred. Intramural practice opportunities are available. Salary and rank are commensurate with experience.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay, determined by rank and step at appointment. See [Table 5](https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/2024-25/oct-2024-scales/t5-summary.pdf). This position’s minimum base salary range is $118,000-$309,800. This position includes membership in the [health sciences compensation plan] (https://ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf), which provides eligibility for additional compensation.
