New Dentists 40 Under 40 Program Submission

The NDA’s 40 Under 40 Awards recognize the nation’s top minority dentists under the age of 40 who demonstrate extra-meritorious achievements, including a high standard of excellence in the profession, innovation, vision, leadership, commitment to the values of the NDA and an exemplary level of community involvement. The awardees will represent a broad range of dental professionals, including large practices, small practices, solo and industry practitioners, government dentists, military dentists, faculty members, corporate, other dentists, all of whom are using the dental profession in groundbreaking ways to promote the art and science of dentistry.

During the Term, no competitors of Colgate in the consumer product goods or professional oral care categories may co-sponsor this award or be otherwise involved as sponsors of the Colgate NDA New Dentists 40 Under 40 Special Award. The NDA New Dentist Committee and National Office will manage the program including judging and communication with NDA members. The NDA will lead the judging process to select the awardee where at least one Colgate employee will participate in the judging decision.

Colgate will fund the New Dentists 40 Under 40 Gala and Award Program at $7,500.

  1. At the gala, the awardee will receive $5,000, which includes travel and an award grant.
  2. The NDA will receive $2,500 to effectively administer the gala and award program.
    • The awardee will present a program that they will lead or support that improves the oral health of the community or provides an important benefit to augment the NDA membership recruitment or intra-professional programs.
    • The awardee will assist the NDA’s New Dentist Committee to implement the program in the following year and return to the next annual NDA Dental Conference to present the key outcomes of their project to the leadership of the NDA.

Award Criteria

  1. The awardee must attend the 40 Under 40 Gala in Las Vegas, NV
  2. The award includes travel and an award grant for programming and travel to the 2025 NDA Convention.
  3.  The awardee will present a program that they will lead or support that improves the oral health of the community or provides an important benefit to augment the NDA membership recruitment or intra-professional programs.
  4. The awardee will assist the NDA’s New Dentist Committee to implement the program in the following year and return to the next annual NDA Dental Conference to present the key outcomes of their project to the leadership of the NDA.
  5. Program design must be presented in writing no later than July 8.
