The University of Iowa’s College of Dentistry is searching for the Department Executive Officer, Operative Dentistry. This is a full-time clinical or tenure-track faculty position at the Associate Professor or Full Professor level. Major responsibilities include: provide strong leadership and guidance for the department; mentor faculty and students; support faculty recruitment and retention strategies; offer faculty development opportunities; collaborate effectively with collegiate administration, faculty, and staff; teach at both graduate and pre-doctoral levels; participate actively in the department’s faculty practice; and guide and conduct research and research programs.
The position is available on June 30, 2025; screening begins immediately.
Applicants must have a DDS/DMD degree or equivalent, a certificate or Master’s degree in Opertive Dentistry or a related field, a substantial record of scholarship, including a history of research funding and scholarly publications, evidence of current relevant teaching experience, and professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives.
Desirable qualifications: relevant leadership/administrative experience; extensive clinical experience; active research program; documented experience and/or expertise in esthetics and CAD/CAM technology; and evidence of collaborative academic achievement.
Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation, including, but not limited to, sexual misconduct in prior employment, provide a related release, and be subject to a criminal background and credential check.
Academic rank, track, and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
